She left the Panthers in 1969 and quit high school following her time at Calumet High School, and Kenwood High School. (Now Kenwood Academy). She played in Chicago together with Cash McCall and his group Lyfe that also featured Hassan Khan. Chaka Khan as well as Hassan were married in the year 1970.
