Anna Silk was born at St. Thomas University in Fredericton in New Brunswick, Canada. She is the daughter of Peter Silk - an academic - and Ilkay Silk, an accomplished actor, writer, director and producer. Anna Silk's father was British and her mother was a Turkish Cypriot English expat. She remembers watching her mother work at play rehearsals.
